Ed Sheeran Dedicates Song to Baby Girl Named After Him: ‘I Love Babies!’

Ed Sheeran has met his biggest fan!

The “Shape of You” singer, 26, dedicated a song to a special member of his Miami, Florida, audience on Wednesday: a 1-year-old baby named Cooper Sheeran, whose parents named her after him.

Cooper’s parents, Rocky Smith and Harmony Smith, spoke to Sheeran from the crowd, telling him of their daughter’s middle name.

“Her middle name is Sheeran?” the singer asked, and added, “I’ve never seen a baby this calm at a concert. Just chilling there for the whole thing and you guys have been loud, you’re singing and she’s just kinda like … I love babies!”

He dedicated his song “Dive” to Cooper, asking the audience to sing along for her.

“I want you to be as loud as you can,” he told the crowd. “‘Cause she’s gonna be chill.”

Rocky later posted the video to his Facebook account and wrote, “Ed Sheeran we didn’t get a picture with you tonight, but you singing to my daughter was pretty amazing. We’ll see you tomorrow!”

Sheeran has a concert scheduled Thursday in Orlando, Florida.

Rocky, who owns a karaoke company, told The Miami Herald his daughter believes Sheeran is singing her father’s songs.

“I’m a singer and I sing only Ed Sheeran to her,” he said. “She hears it on the radio when I’m not around and she’s looking for daddy. She’s been listening to him since before she was born. We had speakers that we could attach to my wife’s stomach where I would play his songs for her.”

Selena Quintanilla’s Father Says He Has “List” of Enemies After Son’s Arrest

After two weeks in county jail, A.B. Quintanilla—brother of the late Tejano singer Selena—was released on Wednesday due to lack of evidence, according to court documents. Now, his father Abraham Quintanilla is speaking out on the musician’s behalf to shut down any rumors that he is still in custody.

“For all those that were misinforming on social media that Ab was in jail for a long time NOT TRUE he is at home enjoying some tacos,” wrote the father on Facebook accompanied with images of the two sitting in front of a computer while tracking Hurricane Harvey. “It’s very clear how you find out who the real friends are and who your enemies are. I am keeping a list.”

The 53-year-old was arrested during his court hearing on August 16th for the charges he faced on nonpayment of child support and contempt of court. These charges had placed Quintanilla on the Top 10 Most Wanted list in Corpus Christi, Texas for the month of August.

In an interview with Spanish-language magazine TvyNovelas, the former member of Selena y Los Dinos questioned the intentions of his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his son Summer Clary. “Seven children from different women and two marriages. Why is it that only one [woman] is doing this to me?… I don’t deserve anything that is happening to me,” he said.

Clary spoke in her defense at the first court hearing earlier this month saying, “I continue to fight for my son, for what he deserves.” Her attorney, Karen Marvel, adding, “We’re just trying to make sure that my client gets her day in court and that Mr. Quintanilla lives up to the obligations. Everybody needs to pay child support and take care of their children. That’s the job, no matter who you are.”

During his court appearance, Quintanilla agreed to pay the money he owes, which in total equals over $130k including original payments, previous rulings, and additional medical expenses, according to court officials.

People on the internet were mesmerized when Lucky’s mugshot started circulating on social media, mostly due to his flawless bone structure and his striking eyes. Nicknamed “Prison bae,” Lucky caught people’s attention with his different colored eyes, which is caused by a condition called heterochromia. The rare genetic feature causes one of his irises to be a deep brown while the other is a hypnotizing blue.

According to public records, the new model was arrested in 2016 in Wake County, North Carolina, on charges of speeding and driving a stolen vehicle — and although he is known as “prison bae,” O’Bryant wanted to make it clear that the model never went to federal prison but instead the local county jail.

Lucky has already started posing in front of the camera and photographer Christian Cody has shared the stunning images on his Instagram account. The father of a 2-month-old baby named Brooke, Lucky now has more than 21,000 followers on Instagram and is already preparing for New York Fashion Week.

McIlroy upbeat ahead of title defense in Boston

(Reuters) – Rory McIlroy is winless this season but hopeful a return to a familiar stomping ground at this week’s Dell Technologies Championship in Boston will provide him a springboard to another FedExCup playoffs title.

World number four McIlroy has been hit with injury this year and will be shutting things down in due course but could not resist defending his title at TPC Boston starting on Friday in the second of the PGA Tour’s four lucrative playoff events.

“I’m a big believer that it is a little bit horses for courses like you hear, and Boston is definitely a track that sets up well for me,” McIlroy said on Thursday.

“I’ve been lucky enough to win at a couple of courses multiple times in my PGA Tour career, and I think just mentally you’re just a lot more comfortable.

“You’ve hit great shots on that golf course before, you’ve shot low scores, and you’ve seen birdies out there. That’s the thing — once you know you can make birdies on a golf course, it makes it easier to do that again.”

Two weeks ago McIlroy cited spasms in a muscle in his upper back and said he was not sure when he would play next, going as far as to say it might not be until next year.

After last year’s win in Boston, the Northern Irishman went on to clinch the $10 million bonus as he topped the standings after winning the season-ending Tour Championship.

“I sort of find myself in a similar position this week as I was last year, needing a good week to sort of kick-start the next few weeks,” said McIlroy.

“Hopefully I can find that little spark that I found last year and go on and play well from here until the Tour Championship.

McIlroy, who is grouped with South Korean Kim Si-woo and American Ollie Schniederjans for the first two rounds, is now trying to avoid what would be only his second full winless season since turning professional.

“It would just be nice to get a win before I shut it down for a while. I feel like I’m capable. It’s not as if I’m out there making it any worse,” said McIlroy.

“Of the courses that we have coming up, I definitely feel the most comfortable on this one so if I didn’t get myself into the mix it would definitely be a lost opportunity.”

World number one Dustin Johnson leads the FedExCup standings after winning the series opener, the Northern Trust, in Old Westbury, New York on Sunday.

This week’s field features the top 100 players in the standings. The top 70 after Monday’s final round advance to the penultimate event to be played Sept. 14-17 at Conway Farms in Lake Forest, Illinois.

DeMario Jackson, Corinne Olympios Are ‘Just Friends’ Despite Kiss

Nothing to see here! DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios were spotted kissing during a night out in Los Angeles on Wednesday, August 31, but they are not a couple, multiple sources exclusively tell Us Weekly.

“They are just friends and wanted to hang out to talk about all the insanity of the last few months together,” a source close to Jackson tells Us. “They had an amazing time, but nothing romantic, even though it sure looked like it!”

Jackson, 30, and Olympios, 24, looked like the best of friends as she leapt into his arms and gave him a kiss on the cheek outside SBE’s Nightingale Plaza on Wednesday night. The reunion marked the first time the reality stars have been spotted together since production was shut down on Bachelor in Paradise earlier this summer amid allegations of sexual misconduct, of which Warner Bros. found no evidence.

A second insider tells Us, “They went out to dinner with some friends and hung out. There is no bad blood between them.”

The Miami native made it clear during a sit-down interview with Bachelor franchise host Chris Harrison that she doesn’t hold any ill will against the executive recruiter. “I honestly didn’t think he did anything wrong,” she said on the Tuesday, August 29, episode of Paradise. “I don’t think it’s anyone’s fault. It’s just a really unfortunate, annoying situation that had to go down.”

Jackson also shared his side of the story with Harrison. “We got turnt up. We’re at the bar, hanging out. One thing leads to another and we’re making out,” he recalled. “One thing leads to another, and the pool gets a little intense, and I didn’t think anything of it.”

Bachelor in Paradise airs on ABC Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.

Samsung secures self-driving car permit in California

(Reuters) – Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (005930.KS) said on Thursday it has received a permit to test self-driving vehicles in California, marking the entry of the world’s largest smart phone maker four months after iPhone maker and arch rival Apple Inc (AAPL.O) received a permit.

Its parent company in May secured permission from South Korean authorities to test a self-driving car fitted with its own sensors and software systems. At that time, South Korean officials said the company planned to use the car to develop a self-driving car algorithm that could drive in adverse weather.

In a statement to Reuters, Samsung did not say what precisely what it planned to test in the United States but said it secured the permit “in pursuit of a smarter, safer transportation future.”

The company, part of a massive conglomerate that makes everything from washing machines to heavy machinery, said it has “no plans to enter the car-manufacturing business.”

With the foray into the U.S. self-driving car landscape, Samsung will jostle with its friends and foes. Besides Apple, it will join Waymo, a division of Alphabet Inc (GOOGL.O), which supplies the Android operating system that runs on Samsung’s phones.

Samsung has a range of other opportunities for growth in the self-driving car business. Earlier this year, the company closed its $8 billion purchase of car audio maker Harman International Industries, giving it a wide foot print in so-called connected car technologies.

3-Year-Old Pennywise the Clown Is Adorably Terrifying

The wait is almost over for Andres Muschietti’s big screen remake of IT and a teenager in Mississippi celebrated by dressing his three-year old brother up as Pennywise for a nightmarish photoshoot. The news comes after early reviews have started to drop for the big screen adaptation of Stephen King’s iconic novel and they have all been positive with one gripe claiming that the movie might have relied on too much CGI. But other than that, it looks like we’re going to see a record-breaking September opening and one scary movie. But before that, we have to look at this three-year old in Mississippi dressed as Pennywise and figure out how exactly these photos came to be.

The Daily Mail brought the pictures to our attention and now it will be really hard to un-see them. Seventeen-year old Egan Tilgham says that he has been drawing and creating art since he can remember and the teenager, a senior at Northeast Lauderdale High School, finds his imagination ignited by movie and comic book characters, and he displays an almost encyclopedic knowledge of characters that were created well before his generation. When asked about some of his favorite movies he says, “Most of the things that I liked were movies that my parents would show me, like the original Karate Kid, Labyrinth, E.T., and Star Wars.”

Apparently, it only took around 30 minutes to get three-year old Louie into IT shape with a great make-up job done by Egan. He covered his little brother in white face makeup to create the horrifying look and drew two dark stripes starting at the forehead and going through the eyes to connect at the mouth, which is covered in dark lipstick. The look is clearly inspired by Bill Skarsgard’s version of Pennywise over Tim Curry’s version. Louie’s lips were then over-lined in black and red rouge and his nose covered with dark red makeup for a haunting Rudolph glow. Next up was the Pennywise orange hair that’s all messed up and sticking straight up in places. It’s remarkable that the toddler sat still for that long, but Egan says that the actual photoshoot took quite some time to complete.

Egan than set out to complete the photos by taking young Louie to train tracks where he is seen holding some red balloons with a sinister look on his face. There are also some shots of Louie smiling, but those might even be creepier than seeing the three-year old trying to look menacing. The final pictures show off young Pennywise’s face, half submerged underwater while staring directly at the camera.

Egan Tilgham did an excellent job of turning his three-year old brother into the terrifying, supernatural being that is Pennywise. It is very creative idea and some free advertising for Andres Muschietti’s IT remake while also getting the teenager’s name out in the world and hopefully he continues to express his creativity. Hopefully he doesn’t dress Louie up in any more horror themed stuff though because this is going to be hard to un-see. Check out the pictures of the three-year old Pennywise below.

Microsoft critical of reported repeal of ‘Dreamers’ program

Microsoft has strongly condemned President Donald Trump’s reported decision to ax an Obama era program that shields from deportation immigrants brought illegally to the US when they were kids.

Trump is expected to announce as early as Friday that he will end the so-called Dreamers program, Fox News reported Thursday. “Dreamers” currently in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program are expected to be allowed to stay in the US until their permits expire, Fox reported.

“These changes would not only negatively impact thousands of hardworking people across the United States, but will be a step backwards for our entire nation,” Microsoft’s chief counsel, Brad Smith, said in a statement.

In addition to disrupting the lives of people who voluntarily registered with the federal government and now face possible deportation, Smith said repealing the program could have significant economic consequences for the US. Ending DACA would cut $460.3 billion from the nation’s GDP over the next decade, according to one study.

There are currently about 800,000 immigrants registered with the federal government under the program. A group of conservative attorneys general have threatened to sue the Trump administration unless he begins to dismantle the program by Sept. 5.

Smith went on to note that 27 Microsoft employees have benefited from DACA.

“They are software engineers with top technical skills; finance professionals driving our business ambitions forward; and retail and sales associates connecting customers to our technologies,” Smith wrote. “Each of them is actively participating in our collective mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.”

In another statement, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella shared a personal story about the value he sees in the program.

“As I shared at the White House in June, I am a product of two uniquely American attributes: the ingenuity of American technology reaching me where I was growing up, fueling my dreams, and the enlightened immigration policy that allowed me to pursue my dreams,” Nadella wrote, adding that “smart immigration can help our economic growth and global competitiveness.”

The White House didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
