Amanda Seyfried Shares Cute Date Night Selfie With Thomas Sadoski

Aww! Amanda Seyfried shared a rare photo from date night with her husband, Thomas Sadoski.

The Mamma Mia! actress, 31, posted a black-and-white selfie cuddling up to the 41-year-old Newsroom alum. In the pic, Sadoski, who’s wearing her glasses and a cardigan, flashes a smile, while Sadoski peeks out from behind her. “#datenightdoneright,” she captioned the Tuesday, August 29, pic.

The couple welcomed their first child and secretly tied the knot earlier this year. Sadoski revealed on The Late Late Show With James Corden on March 16 that they eloped. “We just took off into the country with an officiant and just the two of us, and we did our thing,” he said. “[It] was beautiful. It was everything that it should be. It was just the two of us talking to each other.”

A few days later, Us Weekly confirmed that Seyfried and Sadoski welcomed a baby girl. The couple are keeping their daughter’s name private and have yet to share a photo of her.

The Mean Girls star later said that her pregnancy was a happy surprise. “We knew that we wanted to be together and make a baby, but you now, sometimes things happen and it’s the biggest blessing in the world,” she said on Dr. Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy Podcast in July.

She also dished on her long delivery. “It was a 24-hour long labor, but it didn’t feel that long,” she said. “I just felt really excited, and really safe and really lucky that I was healthy and she was healthy.”

The Challenge’s Veronica Portillo, Rachel Robinson Dated for Three Years

Well, there’s a twist no one saw coming. On The Challenge’s Tuesday, August 29 episode, it was revealed that former champs Veronica Portillo and Rachel Robinson secretly dated for three years.

The shocking former relationship wasn’t revealed by the duo, however, but by Robinson’s ex and Challenge alum Aneesa Ferriera.

“You are so f–king beautiful, Veronica. I’d f–k you. And that’s it,” Ferriera said to Portillo. “That’s what it really comes to. Her ex-girlfriend is my ex-girlfriend.”

Ferreira explained that when she and Robinson, who began their romance after filming season six of the MTV series, eventually split, Robinson went on to date Portillo.

Portillo was less than thrilled to have her past relationship exposed, explaining in a confessional interview: “I feel honestly bad for Rachel for me to come back years later and talk about it when I didn’t talk about when we’re together, I feel like that’s really disrespectful.”

Following her admission, Ferriera asked Portillo to go to bed with her “as friends,” explaining: “I want to hold you like a little kitten.”

Robinson has moved on from both relationships. She announced in May that she is expecting twins with her partner, Natalie Gee. “I know it has been a very long time since my last blog post, and I have taken a little hiatus from social media. Well, it is well deserved with the news I am about to share,” the two-time champ wrote at the time. “Natalie and I will be welcoming twins in the fall, and we are excited to share the news with you all!”

The Challenge: XXX airs on MTV Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET.

Sean Connery Laughs as James Bond Theme Song Plays at US Open

The guest of honor! Sean Connery received a special welcome at the 2017 U.S. Open on Tuesday, August 29, in Queens, New York.

The 87-year-old actor made a rare public appearance as he sat courtside in the President Box during Roger Federer and Frances Tiafoe’s match. The Oscar winner was all smiles when he made it on the stadium screen while the iconic James Bond theme music played in his honor. The Scottish star, who retired from acting in 2006 after his final role in 2003’s The League of Extraordinary Gentleman, laughed and rejoiced as he enjoyed a moment back in the spotlight. The U.S. Open’s official Twitter account shared a photo of the actor beaming on the big screen.

Although Connery typically keeps a low profile, he has been a longtime supporter of the annual tennis tournament. At the 2012 games, Connery hilariously crashed athlete Andy Murray’s press conference. In 2015, the knighted actor looked delighted as he crossed paths with Bradley Cooper at the event.

Connery is commemorated for his award-winning performance as the original James Bond in the franchise’s five first films from 1962 to 1967, before reprising his role one final time in 1971’s Diamonds Are Forever. Although many other actors have assumed the coveted secret agent part, fans have immortalized Connery’s unparalleled performance.

Houston Best Buy Sells $43 Cases of Water Was ‘A Big Mistake’ After Hurricane Harvey

A Houston Best Buy got in hot water over the price of bottled water following the devastation of Hurricane Harvey.

A photo of a Best Buy store selling a 24-count case of Dasani water for $42.96 went viral on Tuesday, August 29, as Twitter users accused the electronics chain store of price gouging. The photo also showed a 12-count case of Smart Water with a sign advertising “$29.98/PK, Limited Supply!!”

“One Houston resident sent me a pic of water he saw being sold for *$42* at a nearby Best Buy. They were kind enough to offer $29 bottles too,” Twitter user and journalist Ken Klippenstein wrote

But Best Buy said their stores don’t sell water by the case, only by the bottle.

“This was a big mistake on the part of a few employees at one store on Friday,” a company spokesman told CNBC. “As a company we are focused on helping, not hurting affected people. We’re sorry and it won’t happen again. Not as an excuse but as an explanation, we don’t typically sell cases of water. The mistake was made when employees priced a case of water using the single-bottle price for each bottle in the case.”

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton also told CNBC of more than 500 reports of price gouging, including up to $99 for a case of water and fuel for $4 to $10 a gallon. The penalty for price gouging is $20,000 per instance and up to $250,000 if the victim is 65 or older.

“These are things you can’t do in Texas,” Paxton said. “There are significant penalties if you price gouge in a crisis like this.”

Hurricane Harvey hit Texas as a Category 4 storm on Friday, August 25, causing massive flooding and devastation. At least 30 people have died.

Maria Menounos Is Feeling ‘Better and Better’ After Brain Tumor

Maria Menounos opened up about her recovery in her first TV interview since undergoing surgery to remove a brain tumor in June.

The former E! News host, 39, told the Today show’s Savannah Guthrie that her symptoms are getting “better and better” every day, but she still has trouble chewing on her right side and gets dizzy if she moves her head too quickly. “Each week you see differences,” she said on Wednesday, August 30. “Overall, I feel so lucky to be functioning and to be almost normal and to not have cancer.”

Menounos, who was diagnosed with the tumor in February, said that she’s definitely changed after going through the health scare. “I’m just so much calmer I think, because I just see things so differently now. I think being still is so important,” she said. “I think that’s why meditation is so great for people because it creates a little time of stillness in their lives. For me, having so much time and so much stillness, I’ve been able to look back at everything, and I did see this all as a gift and I did shift everything into positives throughout this whole journey.”

The actress’ fiancé and partner of 19 years, Keven Undergaro, has been her rock. “He’s been unbelievable. The man has not left my side. Not only has he taken care of me, he’s helping me take care of my mom and dad and keeping us all strong,” she said. “He’s done everything I could have ever dreamed of.”

Menounos’ mom, Litsa Menounos, is currently battling stage IV brain cancer. “We’re both doing well,” Maria said. “We just celebrated my mom this past weekend in Connecticut. We called it like her one year celebration of life party … since her diagnosis. We had family and friends gather at our home in Connecticut,” she said. “We had a really nice time. It’s a process, and right now she’s stable and doing well, but there’s definitely a lot of things that go with it. It’s an emotional ride.”

The TV personality previously told Us Weekly that her tumor made her prioritize life over her career. “What this has done is shift my focus into more of like a mind, body, spiritual kind of grounding that needs to happen,” she said. “Having a healthy lifestyle was always important for me. I think this has convinced me to give myself more time to breathe.”

It also made he realize that she wants to get married “sooner rather than later,” she said. “A few weeks after I was home from surgery, I was like, ‘We need to get married! We need to have kids! I can’t wait anymore.’ But it’s like, ‘Alright, let’s get better first.’”

Reese Witherspoon and Daughter Ava Stun on Red Carpet: Pics

Seeing double! Reese Witherspoon attended the premiere of her film Home Again in Los Angeles on Tuesday, August 29, and brought her look-alike daughter, Ava, 17, along for the occasion.

Both the actress, 41, and her daughter wore black strappy heels and simple hair styles. Witherspoon looked stunning in a red Roland Mouret dress and Jack Vartanian jewelry while Ava opted for a patterned black and white dress.

The Oscar winner shared a photo with her kids, also including sons Deacon, 13, and Tennessee, 4, while on vacation in April, which prompted many of the actress’ followers to point out the mother-daughter duo’s strikingly similar features. “Definitely twins! Your daughter is absolutely gorgeous!” one fan wrote at the time. Another added, “U seriously look like sisters!!”

Though the teenager is clearly a spitting image of her mother, her father, Ryan Phillippe, revealed last year that they are occasionally mistaken for siblings.

“One thing that I know my daughter gets embarrassed sometimes by is the fact that I do look so young and I get mistaken for her brother at times, which repulses her,” he told James Corden on the Late Late Show in November 2016. “It absolutely repulses her that anyone could mistake me for being her brother.”

While at the film’s premiere on Tuesday, Witherspoon opened up to reporters about signing on for the role with the excitement of working with Nancy Meyers and her daughter, Hailee Meyers-Shyer, on the project, which tells the story of a recently-separated mother who houses three younger men when she moves to Los Angeles. “I thought, ‘Well, I’ve been every single person in this movie. I’ve been a kid, I’ve been older, I’ve been divorced, I’ve been remarried,’” she said. “I’ve been all these things. I think it’s a very universal experience I think. I was excited to work with Hailee and Nancy.”

She added: “I never worked with a mother and daughter team. It was really fun.”

Shrunken Matt Damon opens 74th Venice film festival

VENICE (Reuters) – Alexander Payne’s “Downsizing”, a satire about shrinking humans to five inches tall as a solution to over-population and global warming, opened the Venice film festival on Wednesday.

It kicked off days of screenings, parties and red carpet glamor at the world’s oldest film fest on the historic lagoon city’s Lido island.

The movie, starring Matt Damon and Kristen Wiig, tells the story of financially-strapped occupational therapist Paul Safranek and his wife Audrey who decide to be downsized – a process that is irreversible – so they can be part of the affluent “small community” where money goes a lot further.

Safranek is attracted by the idea of starting over, leaving problems behind and doing one’s bit for the planet in the process.

But unlike the noble intentions that drove scientists to find a way to fight global warming, most of the people who sign up for the irreversible procedure are lured by the promise of being able to multiply their possessions and afford luxuries – from villas to diamond necklaces – they could normally only dream of.

Soon Leisureland – the glass-covered downsized community where Safranek and his wife decide to move – turns into a micro version of today’s society, where corruption, wealth-disparity and people like Dusan Mirkovic, a party boy and smuggler of counterfeit goods played by Christoph Waltz, thrive.

Damon said films were the best vehicle to help humans empathize with each other, adding that despite its apocalyptic tone, “Downsizing” ultimately is an optimistic movie.

“At the end of the day there is the sense that we are all in this together … I feel that is a very hopeful message in what is a very divided world,” the 46-year-old American actor told journalists.

“Downsizing” is one of 21 U.S. and international features vying for Venice’s Golden Lion that will be awarded on Sept. 9.

The Venice festival is considered a launching pad for the film industry’s award season, having premiered Academy Award winners in its last four editions.

While “Downsizing” is set in America, Payne brings in characters from across the world to show how something like this phenomenon “would ripple around the world”, the director said.

This is a new foray for the Nebraska-born filmmaker, whose past features – including “Nebraska” and “About Schmidt” – primarily focused on America’s Midwest.

“Payne tackled some really big issues that humans are facing right now and the message was really boiled down to just living the moment, respect each other,” said Hollywood Reporter film critic Ariston Anderson.

All the while Payne created an environment “where everyone is just really uncomfortable”, Anderson added. “I watched it with terror throughout, it felt like a horror in disguise.”

John Legend Opens Up About Fertility Struggles With Chrissy Teigen

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s struggle with fertility made them even stronger. “Having a baby is a big challenge for a couple, and going through that together strengthens your bond because if you make it through [having a child], you know you can make it through anything,” Legend, 38, told Cosmopolitan in an interview published on Monday, August 28. “We’re lucky that we’re living in an age where we can conceive in other ways. [IVF] brought us [16-month-old daughter] Luna and hopefully it will bring us a few more awesome kids, too.”

The “All of Me” singer explained to Cosmo that he and his wife of nearly four years talk through everything, which doesn’t come quite as naturally for him as it does the Lip Sync Battle host. “There’s no problem with openness in our relationship,” he said. “You know Chrissy. She doesn’t hold anything back! I’m quite reserved, but being with someone like her inspires me to be open about my emotions. She brings them out of me because she’s so open about hers.”

One topic that was openly discussed between the two, Legend says, was Teigen’s choice to cut back on drinking. As previously reported, the supermodel opened up to Cosmo on August 21 about the choice, explaining that she was “point blank, just drinking too much,” and had incorporated alcohol into her getting-ready routine. “We’re always honest with each other, so we discuss everything that’s on our minds,” Legend explained. “When she was thinking about how she wanted to drink less, we talked about it. I just want to support her. I want her to be happy and to live the fullest, most awesome life she can, and I want us to do it together.”

Legend added: “Whenever she sets her mind to anything, I always tell her, ‘I want to support you and help you do it.’”

Though their relationship may appear to work flawlessly, Legend explained that the expectation simply isn’t realistic. “I don’t want to present myself as the ‘perfect spouse’ and I don’t want to present our relationship as the ‘perfect relationship’ because I don’t think anybody meets that definition,” he said. “I think it’s too much pressure to put on anyone.”

Still, the crooner is happy to uphold his reputation as a loyal husband rather than a womanizer, something that was spoofed on a recent episode of Insecure. “I don’t mind being known as somebody who’s devoted to their wife,” he said. “I am devoted to Chrissy. And when I write about [my commitment to her], it’s me being authentic.”

He noted: “I think it should be cool to be a good partner, a good spouse, a good father, and/or a good parent. If I’m one of the people who helps make that cooler, I think that’s great.”

Derek Hough Talks Vegan Diet: Details

You can’t go wrong with green. Dancing with the Stars alum Derek Hough spoke exclusively with Us Weekly about a newly-adopted vegan diet he’s committed to trying with girlfriend Hayley Erbert while attending the Choreography Nominee Reception in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 27.

The 32 year-old TV personality, who has been dating the 22-year-old DWTS troupe dancer since July 2015, told Us: “We both are trying the vegan thing right now and it’s actually really easy. People are like, ‘Is it hard?’ and I’m like, ‘nah.’ Living in LA, it’s actually hard not to be [vegan]. I feel great. I have a lots of energy, my skin has cleared up, I feel great.”

Hough and his love made the commitment to a plant-based diet to better improve their health and naturally boost their energy levels.

“It’s a health thing. It really is,” the World of Dance judge said. “I think it’s just something that you have to discover yourself and works for you. It’s about energy for me. If you’re waking up and you’re tired and a little sluggish, then you don’t have to live like that.”

He continued: “There is a life where you can wake up and have level 10 energy from the minute you wake up to the minute you go to sleep without having to take caffeine or take coffee. That does exist.”

While Hough prefers to dine out at vegan restaurants rather than cooking his own dishes, he explained that for people who are curious about a plant-based diet, they should experiment with different food options to know what will work best for their own bodies.

But don’t be fooled. While the couple make a conscious effort to eat healthy, the hunk admits that he and his girlfriend both had a moment of weakness on a recent night out.

“I have the popcorn and I have the nachos. That’s my vice,” Hough laughingly revealed. “I go to the movies and I just eat tons of popcorn and stuff like that. And she had donuts. She loves sugar.”
